RE: Removing old imported data

Hi Christian,

I believe we have everything squared away here.

We will archive everyone on the current system, once that is done we will upload one of the files you are sending us daily and it will un-archive any of those users on the list. This gets rid of all the excess users.

So basically, since you are sending us a full data file daily, we just need to know what date you would like to do this and we can take care of the rest.

We also need to know if you want to leave the message boards as is, or clean them up at all.

Let me know what you think on this and we’ll work to get everything rolled over.

Thanks

Christian-

Sorry, Bryon and I are crossing messages to you from different ends.  I didn’t see his response until mine was sent.  Please hold tight.  I will be in touch.

Hi Christian,

I’m glad you brought this up! It is getting to that time of year when we clean up your AdmissionsGenie site of old users and information.

What we typically do on a yearly basis is archive all users who have not logged in, for 12 months. In the data you pass to us daily, anyone that is on that list and was archived will become active in the system again.

Another thing we typically do around this time of year is clean up message board posts. We can remove all posts, or just posts from a certain date back if you’d like.

Please let me know how you would like to handle the message boards and when you’d like us to archive all old users. We will then work to get this completed for you.

Thank you,

Hi, Bryon,
I’m not sure just how we go about this process, but we need to remove old data (user records and imported information).
Is this something we direct? Have you a process in place for this?
Yours,
Christian
