Re: Application Status Check

Hi, Bryon,
Here are the questions that Orfa, Colleen and I have come up with so far. Please let me know when you might have time for us to get together over the phone.

1.    What kind of information will be asked about for the verification? Would it be the kind of information we might already have?

2.    How are the questions and answers going to be collected in the first place – web, RecruitmentPlus data, etc?

3.    Can the questions and answers be overridden/changed or are they static?

4.    Where should these questions be stored?  Would it be in AG or would it have to be in RPlus?

5.    Is the data for the app status check going to come from the existing export or are we going to create a new export from RPlus for the app status check?

6.    Will the export have to change if we are using the current export for the list of questions and/or answers?

7.    Is the app status check integrated with AdmissionsGenie?  With LiquidMatrix the app status check was a “black box” process, which was a headache.

Yours,
Christian

Hi Christian,

We are shooting for having our enhanced Application Status Checklist live the second week in December.

The enhanced version of the Application Status Checklist will include:
1.     A way for parents to check their child’s Application Status Checklist

a.     The option to add 1-5 questions that the parent will have to answer correctly related to their child.

b.     Once questions are answered correctly – we can show them that user’s application status checklist

c.     Those 1-5 questions (answers) will need to be passed to us via the data.

2.     A way for Guidance counselors to check their student’s checklist.

a.     You and your team will create a login specific to the app checklist module for guidance counselors

b.     Counselors will then be able to view all students checklists based off of CEEB code.

Like I said, this is something that we are hoping to have live the second week in December. Right now we are wrapping up development on it, and initial testing. We then need to make sure it goes through a thorough QA testing.

Let me know if you have questions or concerns at all.

Christian-

I am copying James Ward on this email to double check my response.  (He is not in the office otherwise I would have him check it prior to sending!!!)  I also figure you will forgive me if I am wrong.

Relative to your first comment:  We wouldn’t have to necessarily use a different skin.  The login module can be implemented into one of the side navigation columns or into a different content area of the page relatively easy.  Either that, or we just make the existing login link only accessible here.  We could play with positioning and hierarchy. We have done similar things…for different purposes, with other AG clients.

Relative to the second question, this should do nothing to impact anyone’s ability to log into AG one way or the other…that I am aware of.  The one caveat to this I will say is that this assumes that James/Cathy/Mary have not agreed to a change in the site that would prevent this from happening and I have not been informed.  Hence, the reason I am copying James on this email.

FYI…I have passed the URL’s you shared with me on to the team for conversion of the pages.  Hopefully, the issue will be completely resolved (finally) tomorrow.

Thoughts?

Darren

Hi, Darren,
If we did that, we’d need to use a skin different from the one we’d be using on other pages.
I don’t really have a problem with that.
What will happen when we start having people sign into AG via the NEST after the admit stage? Will they no longer be able to log in via AG?

Have you considered allowing the login only on the message boards page as a way to address this?  It is standard on message boards that users have to identify themselves, so it shouldn’t be seen as a barrier to users.

Thoughts?

Hi Christian,

In regards to your questions below:
1)    Unfortunately, the Forums module doesn’t support allowing unauthenticated users to post messages at this time.

2)    The stretching problem has been corrected. We believe the user: tshidaki <https://admissions.creighton.edu/CULive/MessageBoards/tabid/341/ctl/UserProfile/mid/850/userid/62890/Default.aspx>  was logged in when starting to reply to the post but took too long to reply and was logged out in the meantime. When he submitted the post he was prompted to log back in before posting and the site lost who the poster was. Again this has been corrected and is now showing correctly.

Please let me know if you have further questions or concerns on either of the above.

Hi, Bryon,
I wanted to find out a couple things about the message boards: https://admissions.creighton.edu/CULive/MessageBoards/tabid/341/Default.aspx

  1. Right now, users have to be logged in to post a comment. But if we get rid of the login for any non-administrator user until they reach admit stage, that means they can’t post a message. Can we make it so that they don’t have to be logged in?
  2. For some reason the module is looking strange, stretched too far horizontally. Can that be fixed?

Thanks and have a great weekend.
Yours,
Christian

Hi, Darren,
We can refresh the beta.
I just wanted to let you know that we have a strange IE 6 rendering of the Jayspace page after login:

I know that Bryon’s sent this on to the development team, but I think it will know show up in the Beta version, right?

Where are you seeing the “Strange IE 6.0 rendering”?

I’m assuming its only happening when logged in because you can’t get to those pages when not logged in? Correct?

If you could point me in the right direction via page URL’s etc… I can look into this further for you.

Thanks,

Hi, Bryon,
Orfa has been testing Jayspace and the NEST login in production and is getting some strange IE 6 browser rendering when logged in.
I’m not sure if you can help. I don’t have a test user in production for the NEST, but let know if you think it would help to get one.
Yours,
Christian

RE: JaySpace Produciton Testing

Also, am I reading this correctly in that you are done with the testing of the JaySpace/NEST link?  Does that mean we may move forward in completing a beta refresh?

Are you referring to the page skin with “Administration” link on the bottom?

And are you saying you want it moved live?

Please let me know and I can work on getting it moved for you.

Hi, Darren and Bryon,
I don’t know if you’ve had a chance to take a look at this, but we would like to incorporate the changes you guys made to beta with the login moved to the bottom.
I’m not sure how long this might take. Please let me know when you get the chance.

Yours,
Christian

Thanks,

Hi, Bryon,
I wanted to find out a couple things about the message boards: https://admissions.creighton.edu/CULive/MessageBoards/tabid/341/Default.aspx

Yours,
Christian
