I have been testing the Application Status Check and it seems to be working for us. Thanks for letting me know about that.
I also wanted to follow up on the Guidance Counselor question to find out whether you can tell me anything (whatever it may be) by tomorrow.
I need to report on this to my boss so that she can tell Mary in a meeting on Monday just what the plan is or whether there is a plan for this.
Yours,
Christian

Hi Christian,
I apologize for not getting back to you on the other questions you had below.
I checked in with the developer about passing a CSV instead of the text file you are currently passing. On our end it really wouldn’t add any benefit to have the CSV passed. We’d have to redo all of the mappings for the new file format.
If this is something you’d like to do to help on your end we can, but if it was to increase speed or ease on our end, we’d rather not.
As for your second question about having guidance counselors login to check statuses, we do not currently have anything like that setup for the AdmissionsGenie sites. I have heard some talk about a possible future enhancement and am not 100% sure how far along that has been.
I’ll check on the second question and keep you posted.
Thank you,
Bryon Kuehn

Hi Christian,
I checked back with the developer, I may have misunderstood. Here’s his explanation.
Each item in the application checklist gets mapped to an attribute with a list or date, data type. If it is mapped to a list attribute, then that item will be flagged as completed when a specified value from that list is sent to us in the daily data file for that user. If the item is mapped to a date attribute, then it will be flagged as complete when a date value is sent to us for that user.
If you want this to work off of a date, you will need to go into the application checklist items and set them to map to whatever date attributes that you are sending us, that you would like to use.
Does this make sense? Please let me know if there are questions.
Thanks,
Bryon Kuehn

Hi, Bryon,
Thanks for getting back to me.
I’m not sure I totally understand what you heard from the developer. The file we send is a fixed-width text file, so all of it text. Some of that text has dates, some of it has other values, emails, names, phone numbers, etc.
Does that make sense?
Yours,
Christian

Hi Christian,
I’ll follow up with a couple people on the new questions that you are referencing below.
Also, I did check in with a developer on the Application Checklist question you had and I believe that this should now work as you have requested.
The Application Checklist should now work with a date instead of just text, as long as the date field is indeed a Date field and not just a text field with the date in it.
I’ll get back to you with more information on the other questions as soon as I have some for you.
Thank you,
Bryon Kuehn

Hi, Bryon,
I wanted to follow up on this and add a further question to the mix.
We are upgrading our version of RecruitmentPlus, which means that we’ll have lots of other options for exporting.
What if we export as a CSV? Would that change things, make it easier, faster, cheaper?
Secondly (and this is a big question), is it possible to have high school guidance counselors log in and view the application status of their students? Is that something that you do for other AdmissionsGenie clients? Is it possible to do with the current modules?
We used to be able to do this when we had LiquidMatrix, and I have heard requests to have it return.
Please let me know when you know. Obviously, the sooner, the better.
Yours,
Christian
