RE: Forum Notifications

Hi Christian,

 

I have removed Heather’s account as she is no longer an employee at James Tower. That should eliminate the mailer daemon messages you were getting.

 

If Jan is receiving the notifications, have her check to see that the option is not checked under “My Settings” if it is not she may also have the box checked at the bottom of the Discussions forum saying “Email me when this forum has a new thread”.

Hi, Bryon,
I am referring to Forums Module > Admin > Email Settings
There is a check box: “Enable Notifications.”
Since then I discovered under Forums Module>My Settings>Tracking/Subscription
Now, I have checked “Discussions”
I wasn’t aware of this setting.
I think the notifications are now working.
However, I received a reply from the Mail Delivery Subsystem:
  ----- The following addresses had permanent fatal errors -----
<hedavis@jamestower.com>
    (reason: 550 No such user (hedavis@jamestower.com))
I’m assuming this is a JT person who was set up to receive notifications but who is no longer there.

Also, Jan Kruse now seems to be getting notifications. I assume that she would have to change that under “My Settings.” Is that correct?

Are you referring to the check box that says “Email me when this forum has a new thread” ?
 
If not can you explain exactly what you are trying to have email?

Hi, Bryon,
Is there a way to get forum notifications. It seems to be enabled, but I never get anything. It could be because there doesn’t seem to be any place to actually say which email to send notifications to, but maybe I’m just not looking in the right place.
Please help when you get the chance.
